UnLtd Grow It Award Winner 2018Unltd backs enterprising organisations with bold solutions to social challenges and solutions that change our society for the better.
Following success with our Unltd Do it award in 2017 we have been awarded a further £15,000 to grow our employability programme to make a positive difference to more underemployed people and to continue to deliver our social pledge.
Our social pledge is to develop entrepreneurial skills in underemployed young people to increase their opportunity for meaningful employment, whether they work for themselves or someone else.
Developing entrepreneurial skills in underemployed young peopleOne in 5 graduates consider themselves underemployed. That’s 2.5 million people with an increased risk of depression, stress and lowered self-esteem. They’ve acquired on average £44,000 debt and are not making full use of their skills and abilities.
Organisations need more entrepreneurial employees that can innovate, problem solve creatively and thrive in uncertainty and we know that early career prospects greatly improve when people are a bit more entrepreneurial. Whilst universities and colleges recognise these skills as important, it’s greatly under supported.
Our four stage process develops entrepreneurial skills in underemployed young people to increase their opportunity for meaningful employment, whether they work for themselves or someone else.
Increasing opportunities for meaningful employmentOur ten minutes online diagnostic offers insight into current entrepreneurial attitudes, behaviours and skills.
Our e-learning platform delivers bite size courses that focus on the six crucial areas of a 21st century mindset: opportunity recognition, creative thinking, tolerance to risk, emotional intelligence, leadership and self-belief.
We compliment this with three face to face workshops and reward learners along the journey and with completion certificates.
Learners leave our courses with tips, tricks & techniques to help them to take initiative in the face of challenge, to be more proactive and better equipped to deliver creative solutions and recognise opportunities.
